Obsessed

Sep 17, 2021

In this episode, Heidi Dunstan talks about how to deal with grief and help somebody grieving.

She talks about why grief is love and why grieving should never be done alone by someone in grief. Many times, grief is love.  They have to find a new way to love their person.

Heidi reminds us that grief is not just when the funeral happens. It happens for months and years after. She reveals the power of asking, "How's today?" to someone who is in grief and wants to run away.

This episode is perfect for someone who is in grief or for someone who wants to know how to help someone who is grieving.

Heidi Dunstan is a grief advocate and educator. Her passion for helping others learn more about grief, and how to support others who are grieving came after losing her husband unexpectedly almost 3 years ago. Her experience with friends and loved ones saying the wrong thing or completely disappearing gave her firsthand experience that many people have never learned how to grieve, which often leaves grievers to grieve in isolation. Heidi believes that grief is love and it should never be done alone, so she teaches people what to say and not say to grievers, giving them the tools to lean into grief so we can all grieve with grace.
